Light problems with Seat Leon 2012: experience and help wanted

Hi guys, I have a Seat Leon, year of manufacture 2012, gasoline engine with about 102633 km on it. I have noticed that the high and low beam is either too high or too low, plus flickering lights. I'm already worried that the fault is a faulty blinker, as I had a bad experience with my car at my last mechanic. Have any of you had similar problems and can share your experiences with your mechanic? Thank you and best regards!

Hey, I have a 2015 Seat Ibiza and had a similar problem last year. In my case, however, it wasn't a faulty blinker, but actually the alternator that was spinning. My high beam and low beam light were ticking in a similar way to yours. It was a serious problem and had to be fixed in the workshop. There's not much you can do yourself. So, be sure to visit a trustworthy mechanic. Hope that helps you! All the best!

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! So your problem was with the alternator, huh? That's interesting. Can you remember how much the repair cost you? Has anything else come up since then that you had to fix? Greetings back!

Hey, well, the alternator was the culprit in my case. But since then everything has been running smoothly again. After I went to the mechanic, the problem with the defective blinker was also fixed. However, the costs were quite high, the repair for the defective control unit alone cost me €880. But what can you do, unfortunately you can't always be lucky with your cars. Nevertheless, keep your head up! Best regards!

Hey, oh wow, that is indeed a hefty sum, but at least the car is fit again - you have to look on the bright side, right? I'll take your advice to heart and definitely take my car to a trustworthy mechanic. Thanks again for the valuable information! Take care!

Hello everyone, I once had a similar problem, but in my case the problem only occurred on one headlight. During troubleshooting, it was discovered that the headlight plug was completely wet, I think due to splashing water from the road. Unfortunately the headlight had to be replaced and a piece of wiring harness from the vehicle. MFG

I had similar issues with my Seat Leon's headlights. I would check the bulb condition, inspect wiring for loose connections, and also adjust headlight alignment. If the problem persists, it could be a faulty headlight switch or electrical system issue. Hope this was helpful!
