Linea ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Fiat Linea diesel exhibited an ABS warning light and failure, with a scan indicating a recurring error related to the lateral acceleration sensor. The issue could potentially stem from a defective control unit or a faulty steering angle sensor. A workshop confirmed that both the lateral acceleration sensor and its control unit were defective, leading to their replacement.

Thanks for the insight. I haven't checked the steering angle sensor. Could a faulty steering angle sensor cause the lateral acceleration sensor to report errors, even if the lateral sensor itself is defective?

It's possible, but the workshop confirmed my lateral acceleration sensor was the problem. They said the control unit was sending incorrect signals. Since your scan points to the lateral sensor, get a professional opinion from a workshop. The electronic control systems can be complex.

I took the Linea to a workshop, and they confirmed the lateral acceleration sensor and its control unit were defective. The repair cost 1000€. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Linea, though I didn't do a scan. The ABS light was always on, and the stability felt off, especially cornering. Have you checked the steering angle sensor? A bad reading there can trigger errors like that.
