Linea Power Loss

My 2008 Fiat Linea diesel is giving me headaches. It feels like I'm driving with half the engine, a total loss of power! The error memory also keeps showing an error. Could a defective ECU be the cause? Anyone else experienced this?

Summary of the thread

A 2008 Fiat Linea diesel is experiencing significant power loss, potentially due to a defective ECU. However, another owner suggests checking the main relay, which was the issue in a similar case. After replacing the main relay, the problem was resolved, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I own a Linea too. I had something similar happen. Did you check the main relay? That was the culprit in my case.

Really? Where is the main relay located, and is it difficult to replace? I'm hoping it's something I can fix myself instead of messing around with the ECU, because those things are expensive...

I am not entirely sure of the exact location, it is best you refer to the vehicle's manual. However, given the symptoms you are experiencing, it would be best to have a workshop diagnose the issue to be certain. It is possible the ECU is damaged.

Thanks! I'll check the manual and see if I can locate the relay. If not, it's off to the workshop. Turns out you were spot on with the relay, changed it and now she runs as new. Cost me 120€ with parts and labor! Thanks again!
