Linea transmission fault code
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Fiat Linea with a gasoline engine was experiencing intermittent engine and transmission warning lights, along with gearbox issues such as slipping, unclean shifts, and grinding noises. The fault code indicated a problem with the transmission oil temperature sensor. The issue was resolved by checking and topping off the gearbox oil level and replacing the faulty sensor, which eliminated the warning lights and restored smooth shifting.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the gearbox oil level myself, to be honest. I wasn't sure where to even begin looking for it on this model. Should I try to check it myself, or is this better left to a professional?

Well, if you're not sure, it's probably best to have a workshop take a look. Continuing to drive it with a potential low oil level could cause further damage. Better safe than sorry, right? They can check the level, top it off if needed, and properly diagnose the sensor issue.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and you were right, the gearbox oil level was low. Topped it off, replaced the faulty temperature sensor, and the warning lights are gone, shifts are smooth again. Total cost was 365€ Appreciate the help!

That sounds like a pain. Is the gearbox oil level okay? Low oil level can definitely cause the sensor to throw a code, and create shifting issues. Have you checked that?
