Livina charge air temperature sensor error

Hi, I've got a 2008 Nissan Livina with a gasoline engine that's throwing up a weird error. The check engine light is on, and the car feels like it's lost a lot of power. Plus, there's this whistling noise, almost like a loud hissing sound, when I accelerate. I ran a scan, and it's showing an error with the charge air temperature sensor. I'm thinking it might be a bad connection, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Anyone else had this issue?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! My old Sentra had similar symptoms a while back. That whistling and loss of power is no fun. When you say 'bad connection', did you check the sensor's plug and wiring for any obvious damage or corrosion? Sometimes it's just a loose connection. Is your temperature gauge acting strange?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I did give the plug a quick look, but didn't see anything obvious. I'll check for corrosion more closely. As for the temperature gauge, it seems to be working fine. Could it still be the sensor even if the gauge is okay?

Okay, so gauge is fine. Hmm, it still points to the sensor or its wiring harness. Given the hissing, it might be worth having it checked out by a workshop. They can do a proper diagnostic and pinpoint the issue. Those sensors can be tricky sometimes. I remember messing with it in my old car and almost creating even more problems.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was a faulty connection on the charge air temperature sensor. They cleaned it up and secured the connection properly. Cost me 95€, but at least the Livina is back to normal! Thanks again.
