Livina engine stalling at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Livina with 168,813 km is experiencing engine stalling at idle and a check engine light. The issue is suspected to be related to the EVAP system, possibly due to clogged or cracked hoses. It is recommended to read the diagnostic codes and inspect the hoses for damage. A local mechanic confirmed a clogged ventilation hose, cleaned it, replaced a cracked hose, and resolved the issue.

EVAP system, huh? Okay, that gives me a direction. I haven't checked any codes yet - should I get that done first? Is it possible that a bad pressure sensor could also cause this?

Yes, definitely get the codes read. But even with that done, my bet is still on the hoses being the culprit. A faulty pressure sensor is possible, but less likely than a hose issue. Still, diagnosing it accurately first will save you time and cash, but tbh, I think you'd be best off if you took it to a workshop for a smoke test of the emission system to rule that cause in definitively.

Thanks for the advice! I followed your suggestion and took it to a local mechanic. Turns out a ventilation hose was indeed clogged. They cleaned it all out, replaced a cracked hose, and reset the light. Cost me about 175€, but it's running like a charm now!

Sounds like you might be having trouble with your EVAP system, which handles tank ventilation. A common issue, especially with a vehicle of that age, is indeed clogged or cracked hoses causing the system to malfunction. Have you tried checking for any obvious signs of damage to the hoses connected to the ventilation valve? What codes are you getting from the check engine light?
