Thanks for the tip! You're right, I focused mainly on the sensor itself. When you say corroded connector, do you mean the one in the engine bay or somewhere else? Was it obvious once you found it, or did it take some serious detective work?

Mine was actually tucked up under the dash, near the climate control unit. It wasn't immediately obvious, I had to wiggle a bunch of connectors and finally saw some green gunk on one of the pins. Honestly, at that point, I just took it to my local mechanic; he cleaned it up and applied some dielectric grease. Definitely worth a look, but if you're not comfortable, let a pro handle it. It sounds like something similar is going on!

Thanks again for the Opel Astra story! I ended up taking it to a mechanic, and you were spot-on – corroded connector! They cleaned up the connection, applied some dielectric grease, and everything's working again. Total cost was 95€, which is way better than replacing the entire sensor. Really appreciate your help!

That sounds frustrating! I had almost the EXACT same thing happen in my old 2012 Opel Astra a few years back. Same symptoms, A/C dead, nozzles frozen, the works! For me, it ended up being a corroded connector in the wiring harness. Nightmare to find! Did you check ALL the connections related to the fog sensor, not just the one directly plugged into it?
