Livinia Electrical Gremlins
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Nissan Livinia with approximately 97,567 km is experiencing sporadic electrical issues, including random error messages, malfunctioning driving modes, and unresponsive control units. These symptoms suggest potential problems with the vehicle's electrical system, possibly linked to a faulty connection in the BUS system. After consulting with others who experienced similar issues, it was recommended to have a workshop inspect the BUS system cable connection, which was found to be defective and subsequently repaired.

Thanks for the insight! It's somewhat reassuring to know I'm not alone in this electronic wilderness. The scan tool did throw up a few codes, but honestly, they were all over the place – related to different systems. As for the battery connections, I gave them a once-over, but nothing seemed obviously loose or corroded. Could the BUS system connection really be the culprit, even with seemingly unrelated errors? Is it worth going to the workshop and pay 155€?

Well, in my case, with the Peugeot, it turned out to be a faulty connection in the wiring harness related to the BUS system. It caused all sorts of seemingly random errors. Since you're getting errors across different systems, and you've already checked the basics, it's definitely worth having a workshop take a closer look at the cable connection to the BUS system. It costed me around 150€ back then. Those intermittent electrical issues can be a real pain to diagnose without the proper equipment.

Based on your advice, I'll schedule an appointment with a workshop and have them focus on checking the BUS system cable connection. The workshop took a closer look at the cable connection to the BUS system, and it turns out that it was defective. The repair costed 155€.

Wow, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar, though not identical, experience with my old Peugeot. Different brand, I know, but the symptoms sound eerily familiar. Intermittent system failures, phantom error messages, the whole shebang. Did your scan tool give you any specific error codes? Have you checked the battery connections and grounds? A weak connection can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems. Is it possible that it is a defective control unit cable connection to the BUS system?
