Hi, thanks for your quick reply and the tip! The wiring harness does indeed sound like a possible cause. The only question is how to actually identify the problem. Do you have any tips? FYI: My Fusion now has 134,754 km on it and the last time I had it serviced was at 1,300,000 km. Only the tires were changed and the oil level checked. No messages from the fault memory. Since then, however, the symptoms mentioned have crept in. Greetings!

No problem, I'm happy to add my two cents again. Corroded contacts or broken wires could be responsible for the wiring harness. My garage measured it with a multimeter, so I would recommend trying that too if you have one at home - but be careful, if you're not sure, it's better to have a specialist do it. It would also be interesting to see if your Fusion is running rough, especially at idle, or if it is showing signs of misfiring. This could also be an indication that something is wrong with the wiring harness. Do I see correctly that you've driven over 4,000 km since your last service without changing the oil? It might also be helpful if you check your oil level and condition. Regular maintenance such as oil changes are important to keep the car in good condition. Keep at it and don't give up, I hope you find the solution to your problems! If in doubt, I would always recommend going to a garage. Best regards!

Hey, thanks for the other tips! I'll check the wiring harness and hopefully it really is just that, because I can't afford an expensive repair at the moment. So far it has idled a bit, but it hasn't misfired. As for the oil change, you're right. I've already thought about changing the oil and will probably do it as soon as possible. If I still have problems then, I probably won't be able to avoid going to my garage. Anyway, thank you for your help and I'll let you know as soon as I have any news! Until then, bye!

Hi. I had a similar problem with my 2005 Ford Fiesta. In my humble experience (I would say low level experience), it sounds like your problem may be related to the wiring harness/connector. On my Fiesta, that was exactly the case. I explained to my garage what was going on and they did a round check. In the end, they had to replace the wiring harness/plug. That cost about 95 euros. After that, my car ran perfectly again. To be able to help you, would it be best to have more details about your car and the specific problem? Information about maintenance or any recent repairs would also be helpful. With more information I could give you more specific advice. Hope this helps a little anyway!
