Thanks for the tip. My Crossland has already done 190371 km and the last service was almost 3 months ago. So far I've only noticed the problem with the oil indicator light and the metal shavings. I haven't had the exact cause checked yet, but I want to go to the garage soon. I hope they find the fault as quickly as you did and that it only costs as much.

Hello again, so with the high mileage of your Crossland and the appearance of the metal shavings, it could well be that the wear on the engine or the oil pump is more. The last service 3 months ago might have revealed something, but of course it always depends on the exact scope of the service. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's just a simple repair and won't be that expensive. In the meantime, take good care of your car and drive carefully until the fault has been rectified. Let us know later what they might find at the garage.

Hello, thanks for the new tips! Yes, the mileage is really high and I hope it's nothing serious. Nothing special was found at the last service, which is why I was so surprised by the problem. I'll definitely be careful until it's repaired. As soon as I know what's going on, I'll get back to you and share my experiences. Until then and thanks again to everyone!

It sounds like there might be an issue with the battery or the charging system. Start by checking the battery terminals for any corrosion or loose connections, as these can affect charging. If the terminals are clean and secure, consider having the battery and alternator tested to ensure they are functioning properly. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hi, I have medium experience with cars and had a similar problem with my Opel Mokka, petrol engine, year 2017. The fault was in the wiring harness on the oil pressure control valve, which was oily/defective. I had it repaired at my trusted garage and the cost was 350.0 euros. Your symptoms sound like what I experienced. Could you give more details about your car, such as mileage and whether you've had any fault diagnostics done? This information could help to make a more accurate diagnosis.
