Lova check engine light air leak

I've got a 2015 Chevrolet Lova with a gasoline engine, and the check engine light keeps popping on, especially after the engine's been running for a while, and maybe after some spirited driving. I'm wondering if it might be something to do with the air valve. I read that a faulty hose connection from the pump to the valve could be the culprit, maybe causing some weird manifold pressure readings. Anyone else experience this?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Chevrolet Lova owner experienced a recurring check engine light, suspecting an air leak related to the air valve. The issue was thought to be caused by a faulty hose connection from the pump to the valve, potentially affecting manifold pressure readings. After inspecting and replacing the defective hose connection, the problem was resolved, and the check engine light was cleared, restoring smooth operation.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I also own a Chevrolet Lova, and what you describe sounds oddly familiar to what happened to me a while ago. If I understand correctly, you suspect an issue with the air valve. Have you noticed any other symptoms, like rough idling or engine stalling? Could you check the air intake for any cracks or loose connections? Sometimes, a simple air leak after the throttle body can throw off the whole system. What are the exact error codes you're seeing?

Thanks for the quick reply! No rough idling or stalling that I've noticed. The error code refers to an air leak. Where exactly should I be looking for cracks or loose connections near the air intake?

Since it's indicating an air leak and you're suspecting the air valve, I'd advise you to inspect all the hoses connected to it very carefully. Basically, trace everything connected to the air valve itself. If you're not comfortable doing that, the best course of action would be to take it to a trusted mechanic to get a professional diagnosis. It might save you some trouble in the long run. Hope you get it sorted!

Appreciate the advice! Turns out, it was exactly as suspected – a defective hose connection between the pump and the air valve. Had it replaced at the workshop, cost me about 175€ all in. Check engine light's gone, and the car's running smoothly again. Thanks again!
