Lova rough idle and stalling

I have a 2015 Chevrolet Lova with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light comes on. The engine runs rough, and it stalls at idle. Also, the car jerks when accelerating. The car has 34654 km on it. Could a defective fuel pressure sensor cause these symptoms? I checked the cable and plug, but I didn't find anything.

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Chevrolet Lova experienced rough idling, stalling, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. These symptoms were suspected to be caused by a defective fuel pressure sensor, which could send incorrect data to the ECU, affecting fuel mixture and timing. After checking the sensor's connection, it was found to be faulty, and repairing it resolved the issue.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Chevrolet a while back. Rough idle, stalling – the whole nine yards. Fuel pressure sensor issues can definitely cause those symptoms. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) uses the fuel pressure sensor to monitor the fuel pressure in the fuel rail. If the sensor is faulty, it can send incorrect data to the ECU, which can mess up the fuel mixture and timing, leading to rough running and stalling. Have you checked the sensor's voltage output with a multimeter? What kind of fuel economy are you getting?

I have not checked the voltage output with a multimeter. Where exactly is the fuel pressure sensor located, and what should the voltage readings be? Regarding fuel economy, I noticed it got worse.

Okay, without the readings it's hard to say for sure. On my Chevy, the fuel pressure sensor was located on the fuel rail, near the fuel injectors. As for the voltage readings, they should be within a specific range, usually between 0.5V and 4.5V, depending on the fuel pressure. A repair manual should provide the exact values for your Lova. Given that your fuel economy has also decreased, it's very likely a fuel pressure issue. If you're not comfortable using a multimeter, I'd recommend taking it to a reputable workshop. They can diagnose the issue properly and replace the sensor if needed.

Thank you for the advice. I took it to the workshop as you suggested. It turned out to be a defective connection to the fuel pressure sensor. The mechanic fixed the connection, and the car runs fine now. The repair cost 95€.
