Lova rough running and stalling

My 2015 Chevrolet Lova with a gasoline engine is running roughly and occasionally stalls at idle around 228069 km. The check engine light is on, and I feel jerking during acceleration. I suspect a defective ignition coil, maybe from a faulty cable or plug connection. Anyone else have this?

Summary of the thread

The 2015 Chevrolet Lova was experiencing rough running, stalling, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. The suspected cause was a defective ignition coil, possibly due to a faulty cable or plug connection. After a diagnostic at a workshop, a defective ignition coil with a loose connection was confirmed and replaced, resolving the issue.

Those symptoms strongly suggest an issue within the ignition system, and a defective ignition coil is a good suspect. Rough running, stalling, check engine light, and jerking all line up. Have you scanned for error codes? That would help identify which coil is misfiring, or if it's something else. Also, what do the spark plugs look like?

Thanks. I haven't scanned for error codes yet. Could a faulty spark plug cause the same symptoms, and if so, how would I tell the difference between a spark plug issue and a coil failure?

Yes, degraded spark plugs can create similar symptoms, but usually the error code will give you a clue. A misfire from a faulty coil will often be consistent, whereas a spark plug misfire might be more intermittent. Given the mileage, if the spark plugs haven't been changed, it may be worth doing so as preventative maintenance. Considering the symptoms and your assessment, I'd suggest visiting a workshop to properly diagnose the ignition system. It may well be the coil, but a proper inspection will confirm.

I took it to a trusted workshop as suggested. The diagnostic confirmed a defective ignition coil with a loose connection. The coil was replaced, and the connection secured, for 95€. The engine now runs smoothly. Thanks for the help.
