Low Brake Fluid Chevrolet Express
Summary of the thread
The main issue is a low brake fluid level in a 2023 Chevrolet Express, accompanied by unusual feedback from the brake pedal. This could be related to worn brake pads, as thin pads can cause the fluid level to drop. The suggested solution is to inspect the brake pads, rotors, and calipers, and consider a professional brake inspection to address any underlying issues.

Thank you for the quick response. I haven't had a close look at the pads yet, but I will. If the pads are worn, is it just a matter of replacing them and topping off the brake fluid, or is there something else I should inspect, like fluid replacement?

While replacing the pads and topping off the fluid might seem like a quick fix, I would strongly advise a thorough brake inspection. Strange feedback suggests a potential issue beyond just worn pads. It is a good idea to check the condition of the rotors and calipers. Considering the mileage, a professional assessment is worthwhile. The repair cost can quickly escalate if you do not act now.

I appreciate the advice. It seems like a brake inspection is the most prudent course of action. I'll schedule an appointment with a trusted workshop. The eventual repair cost was 480€.

I had a similar experience with my Chevrolet Express. A low brake fluid level often triggers a warning light. Have you checked the brake pads for wear? Thin pads can cause the fluid level to drop as the calipers extend further to compensate.
