LX Diesel Stalling at Idle

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2023 Lexus LX diesel. It has 171237 km on the clock. The check engine light illuminates intermittently, and the engine sometimes stalls at idle. I've also noticed a reduction in engine power. I suspect a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. Has anyone else experienced something similar with their Lexus LX?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Lexus LX diesel with 171,237 km is experiencing intermittent check engine light activation, stalling at idle, and reduced engine power. The suspected cause is a faulty fuel rail pressure sensor affecting fuel injection. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the pressure sensor, which restored the vehicle's performance.

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my LX, although it was a while back. The symptoms sound very familiar. I'm just curious, did it affect the fuel injection? How did the error code manifest? I experienced that my fuel rail became defective due to the vibrations of the engine, maybe this helps.

Thanks for the quick response! Yes, I suspect it's affecting the fuel injection since the engine stalls and power is reduced. I haven't yet investigated error codes; my plan was to check the sensor connector, and maybe replace the sensor, since replacing the whole rail is probably pretty expensive. Does that match your experience? Did the sensor show an unexpected high or low voltage?

Honestly, I didn't get that far into diagnosing it myself. I recognized the symptoms from a previous experience on a totally different car and immediately took it to a trusted workshop. It turned out to be the pressure sensor in my case too. Since you suspect the sensor, maybe it's the wisest thing you can do.

Thanks. I appreciate the input. I'll take your advice and get it checked out by a workshop. The workshop confirmed it was the fuel rail pressure sensor. The replacement cost was 240€. Now the car runs like new.
