LX fog sensor issues
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Lexus LX diesel owner experienced issues with the fog sensor, leading to an error in the memory and malfunctioning AC, frozen spray nozzles, and non-working mirror heating. The problem was suspected to be a short circuit or a wiring issue, possibly due to a loose connection or corrosion. Upon professional inspection, it was confirmed that a corroded connector on the fog sensor was the cause, which was resolved by cleaning and replacing a section of wiring.

Good point about the wiring. I haven't dug that deep yet. Where exactly is the fog sensor located, and are there any specific plugs I should be looking for first?

Okay, so the fog sensor is usually near the interior mirror, integrated into the rain sensor assembly behind the plastic cover on the windshield. BUT with all those symptoms, I'm betting on a damaged wiring harness or a defective connector, as this also affects the air conditioning system and the mirror heating. You really should take it to a workshop - there's a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) related to this. They can diagnose properly. My bet? Cable or plug connection. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you nailed it. Turns out it was a corroded connector on the fog sensor. They cleaned it up and replaced a short section of wiring. Cost me 95€, but everything is working perfectly again.

Whoa, that sounds like a cascade of problems all stemming from one thing! Frozen nozzles and the AC? Nuts! You say fog sensor... that's connected to a whole bunch of stuff. Sounds like a short circuit that is disabling multiple systems. Have you looked at the wiring harness or any plugs near the sensor itself? Could be a loose connection or corrosion causing havoc.
