Thanks for sharing your SRS experience. My Lyriq just had its 70000km service last month and has been running great until this airbag warning showed up. No other warning lights are active and I havent had any accidents or impacts. The car hasnt had any work done near airbag components either. Really hoping its just a loose connection like in your case and not a major airbag sensor replacement. From what you described, seems like getting a proper diagnostic scan is the next logical step for car safety. Will have it checked this week since the restraint system isnt something to ignore. The 95€ repair cost in your case sounds reasonable, lets see what they find with mine. Good to know these issues can often be traced to simple connection problems rather than requiring a full airbag recall or system replacement.

As mentioned in my earlier reply about my ELR, loose connections with crash sensors and airbag components can be a common automotive safety issue. Since your Lyriq had recent service work, there is a good chance a technician may have inadvertently disturbed a connection while accessing other areas. After my initial SRS warning light experience, I learned these systems are quite sensitive. The diagnostic scan should quickly identify if its a similar loose connection or possibly a faulty crash sensor. The car safety systems are designed this way to ensure any potential issues are flagged immediately. The fact that no other warning lights are active is actually a good sign. In cases where there is a more serious airbag system failure, you typically see multiple warnings. Given the timing after your service, I still suspect a simple connection issue like I had. Do update the forum once you get the diagnostic results. Even though my repair was straightforward at 95€, its always helpful for others to know the actual cause and fix when dealing with airbag repair situations.

Thanks for the detailed follow-up about crash sensor issues. I will definitely share an update after getting the diagnostic scan results on my Lyriq. Good to know the 95€ repair cost reference point too. Regarding the recent 70000km service, my mechanic did mention they had to access some components near the front of the car, so your point about accidentally disturbed connections makes sense. The car safety systems are clearly doing their job by alerting to any potential issues right away. Really hoping the SRS light is just triggered by a loose connection that needs securing rather than a complete airbag repair job. Will schedule the scan this week since I agree the restraint system warnings shouldnt be ignored. As you said, the fact that its just a single warning light without other issues seems promising. Will post back with what they find during diagnostics. Your experience has been really helpful in understanding what to possibly expect with these sensitive airbag sensor systems.

Having dealt with a similar SRS light issue on my 2020 Cadillac ELR electric, I can share some relevant experience as a DIY enthusiast with moderate technical knowledge. The restraint system warning in my case was also triggered suddenly during normal driving. After inspection, the workshop found a loose cable connection at one of the crash sensors. The connection had worked itself loose over time due to normal vehicle vibration. The repair involved reconnecting and securing the plug connection properly. Total cost was 95€ including diagnostic time. This is a fairly common issue with the restraint system in these models. Before suggesting specific solutions for your Lyriq, have you had any recent work done near the airbag components? Did you notice this after hitting any large bumps or potholes? Are there any other warning lights active? Has the vehicle been involved in any minor impacts? Getting this fixed promptly is important since a faulty SRS system might not work properly in case of an accident. Best to have a proper diagnostic scan to identify the exact fault code.
