M Klasse air suspension problem

M Klasse Diesel 2008 air suspension issues

My 2008 Mercedes M Klasse diesel, with 267041 km, has an air suspension fault. The car is low, won't lift, and leans. I get a 'malfunction' error and the headlights point wrong. The diagnostic tool shows an air suspension compressor error. I suspect a connection issue. Has anyone seen this? Where should I look? I hope it's a cable or plug, as a new compressor and suspension parts are expensive. I want to avoid a big bill. The initial estimate is 95€, which I hope is right.

I've had similar M Klasse issues. Leaning, inability to raise, and errors suggest an air suspension problem. Before the compressor, did you check air lines for leaks? Even small leaks make the compressor work hard and fail. The suspension pump keeps the vehicle at the right height. What error codes did you see?

I visually checked for air leaks around the struts, but saw nothing. Where should I focus on leak detection? The error code seemed to indicate an electrical fault with the compressor, not a mechanical one.

If the error code is an electrical fault, check the compressor's wiring harness and connectors. Corrosion can disrupt power. Air leaks are hard to spot. Soapy water on air lines can reveal leaks. Given the system's complexity, a workshop visit is advised. It was a corroded connector at the compressor. I cleaned it, and it works. The error is gone, and the car is level. The low beam works. An inexpensive fix, thankfully.
