M Klasse Blower Motor Issue

My Mercedes M Klasse, manufactured in 2011 with a gasoline engine, has a fresh air blower that isn't working. The blower motor seems dead, and there's an error code. I suspect the blower motor is defective, and I've been quoted 365€ for the repair. Any advice on solutions?

I had a similar issue with my M Klasse. The cabin fan just quit. The resistor pack went bad, but that didn't throw a code for me. I'd check that first before assuming it's the motor. Is the climate control display still working normally? If the display is dead too, check fuses, obviously.

The climate control display is indeed working normally. Could you elaborate on where the resistor pack is located and how to check it? Should I suspect a fuse even if the display is working?

The resistor pack is usually located near the blower motor, inside the HVAC system. Replacing it yourself can be tricky. I ended up going to a workshop as I didn't have the right tools. If the display is working, a fuse is less likely, but doesn't hurt to check the relevant ones for the air conditioning and heater fan system anyway.

I followed your advice and took it to a workshop. Turns out the blower motor was indeed faulty. The final repair cost was exactly as initially estimated. Now the air flow is perfect again! I'm quite relieved to have this sorted out.
