Thanks so much for sharing that info about the fuel injectors, really helpful! My symptoms do sound exactly like what you went through. I'm planning to take it to the shop this week since I definitely don't want to risk any engine damage. Would you mind sharing how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, curious if you've had any other issues pop up since getting it fixed? The M3's been my dream car but these repair costs can be pretty intense!

Hey again! Really glad I could help! So yeah, after getting it fixed, my M4's been running like a champ. The total repair came to 515 € for replacing the defective injector, which honestly wasn't as bad as I initially feared. The mechanic found that the engine was indeed running too lean, just as I suspected, but once they swapped out that faulty injector, the problem was completely solved. Haven't had a single issue since then, the car's performing beautifully now. No more power loss, no jerking, and the engine's running smooth as silk. It's definitely worth getting it sorted quickly because these performance engines need to run at optimal fuel mixture. And I totally get what you mean about repair costs on these M cars! They're absolutely incredible machines when everything's working right, but yeah, when something goes wrong, it can hit the wallet pretty hard. Still, I wouldn't trade mine for anything else, the driving experience is just unmatched. Let me know how it goes at the shop! Fingers crossed it's the same straightforward fix as mine was.

Just wanted to update you all on what happened with my M3. Took it to the mechanic and you were spot on about the injectors! Got them replaced and now my car feels like new again. The whole thing ended up being pricier than yours though, nearly 800 € for parts and labor since they recommended replacing all of them. The mechanic showed me the old injectors and they were pretty gunked up. The funny part was when they were doing the work, they discovered that one of my spark plugs was also on its last legs. Thankfully, they caught that before it caused any problems. Makes me wonder if my previous mechanic even bothered to check these things during regular service. The best part? No more jerking or power loss, and that annoying check engine light is finally off. Lesson learned about not waiting too long when these symptoms show up. Really appreciate everyone's help here, saved me from stressing out too much about it. Time to enjoy my M3 properly again!

Hey there! I had nearly identical issues with my 2015 BMW M4 last year. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, power loss, rough idle, and jerking during acceleration. After taking it to the garage, diagnostic tests revealed defective fuel injectors. Two of them were clogged and not spraying fuel properly, causing the lean condition. It was actually a serious issue that needed immediate attention to prevent engine damage. The repair involved replacing all fuel injectors since they tend to wear at similar rates. The job took about 4-5 hours at the shop. This isn't something you want to postpone, running lean can cause bigger engine problems down the road. I'd strongly suggest getting it checked soon. The symptoms are too similar to ignore, and with your mileage, it's around the time these issues can start showing up in these engines. Hope this helps!
