Thanks for the feedback! I'm at 35758 KM and had my last service about 6 months ago. The issues seem to happen more when I first start the car in the morning or after it sits for a few hours. Interesting that you mentioned the vacuum hoses, that could definitely explain the symptoms. Did your mechanic mention how common this issue is with Porsches? I'll definitely bring this up at my dealer appointment next week. Really hoping it's something relatively simple like hoses and not a more serious engine problem!
Hey there again! Yeah, I remember when I had those issues with my Cayenne, it was super annoying! When my mechanic worked on it, he actually mentioned that vacuum hose deterioration is pretty common in Porsches, especially in the VW-Porsche family models like our Cayenne and your Macan. They use similar systems, you know? Since you mentioned it happens mostly on cold starts, that's exactly what I experienced too. The morning starts were the worst! The fact that you're at 35,758 KM is actually around the same mileage where I started having these issues (I was at about 38,000 KM). Just to add to what I shared before, when my mechanic did the repair, he showed me the old hoses, and you could actually see tiny cracks in them. He said the temperature changes and engine heat can make them brittle over time. I've now had the repair for about 8 months with zero issues. One tip though, while you're at the dealer, maybe ask them to check the purge valve too. My mechanic did that as a precaution, and while it wasn't needed in my case, he said it's often related to these symptoms. Let me know what your dealer says next week, I'm curious if it turns out to be the same issue!
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! It's really reassuring to hear that you had such a similar experience, especially around the same mileage. I feel much better going into my dealer appointment now with this knowledge about the vacuum hoses and purge valve. I'll definitely have them check both and will let you know what they find! Really hoping it's as straightforward as your repair was. The quoted price seems reasonable too if it ends up being the same issue. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, it's super helpful when dealing with these kinds of problems!
Hey! As someone with some experience working on cars, I had a similar issue with my 2019 Porsche Cayenne last year. The symptoms were almost identical to what you're describing. After taking it to my trusted workshop, they found that some of the vacuum hoses were cracked and deteriorating, causing all those problems you mentioned. They replaced the hoses, and it cost me around 175€ for the fix. The car's been running perfectly since then. Before I share more specific details, could you tell me how many miles/kilometers are on your Macan? Also, have you noticed any specific conditions when these issues occur more frequently (like cold starts or after refueling)? I've seen similar issues on other Porsche models too, so I'd be happy to help guide you through this!
