Malfunction of the active hood and warning lights in the Opel Karl 2017 - experiences and suggested solutions wanted

Hello everyone, strange warning lights have recently come on in the speedometer and on the airbag warning light in my Opel Karl (built in 2017, petrol engine). Active hood malfunction could be the reason, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm looking for tips and experience to better isolate the problem. Has anyone had similar problems and could tell me how it was fixed at the garage? Would appreciate your experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Opel Corsa (built in 2015). I'm not a car expert, but I do have some experience with cars. In my case, the acceleration sensor was displayed as defective, similar to yours. The garage was very helpful and was able to replace the part for me. The cost was 315.0 euros. It took a little while, but everything worked out in the end and the sensor is now working perfectly again. Can you please give me more information about your car, e.g. have you made any modifications or special circumstances that may have led to this problem? The more details we have, the better we can help you. Looking forward to your feedback.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply and sharing your experience! There have been no particular changes to my car, it's basically stock as when I bought it. Last service I did was at 87322 km and since then the gauges seem to be acting up. Probably something to do with the service, but I'm not really sure. Your info about the acceleration sensor is also interesting, I didn't know that. I think I'll make an appointment at the garage soon though. Hopefully it's nothing serious and they can sort it out quickly. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! It's really strange that the lights came on immediately after the service. Maybe something was damaged during the service or there was an assembly error. But it could also just be coincidence, cars are sometimes moody. The acceleration sensor was just a guess on my part because I recently experienced the problem with my Opel Corsa. But there can be many reasons why the airbag warning light comes on. The most common reasons are ignition circuit problems, wiring problems or problems with the airbag unit itself. A visit to the garage is definitely the best solution, as airbag problems can quickly become very dangerous. The guys will certainly check your car thoroughly and find the fault. Let's hope it's nothing serious and can be fixed quickly. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
