Malibu Fuel Level Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevy Malibu diesel was experiencing issues with the check engine light, stalling at idle, and a fuel level sensor fault. A suggestion was made to check the fuel pump fuse, as a faulty fuse could mimic sensor issues. After checking, it was confirmed that a defective fuse was the cause, and replacing it resolved the problems.

Fuse? Hmm, I didn't even think of that. Where would I find the fuel pump fuse on this thing? And would a bad fuse really cause all those problems?

Yes, a defective fuse could certainly cause all those symptoms. The fuel pump fuse location should be indicated in your owner's manual, or you can find fuse box diagrams online. However, with those symptoms and the error code, it might be best to visit a workshop.

Thanks! Turns out it WAS just a fuse, like you said. 52€ later and she's purring like a kitten again. I owe you a beer!

A faulty fuel level sensor, huh? Could be a simple fix, or something more involved. Have you checked the fuse for the fuel pump? Sometimes a bad fuse can mimic sensor issues. It's worth a look before jumping to conclusions.
