Malibu MOST Bus Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Chevrolet Malibu diesel is experiencing a MOST bus fault, resulting in a non-functional audio system and unavailable navigation. The issue is suspected to be caused by a defect in a control unit on the MOST bus. A similar problem was resolved by checking fiber optic connections and diagnosing a faulty control unit, suggesting that consulting a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair is advisable.

Fiber optic connections, you say? Could you elaborate on which control units might be involved?

For me, it turned out to be a faulty control unit. I didn't want to mess with the fiber optics myself, so I took it to the workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly. I would recommend doing the same. They said that it is a common issue.

Thank you for the insight. Based on your experience and the symptoms, I will consult a workshop. Initial estimate is around 1000€ due to the MOST bus fault and a faulty control unit, but at least I have an idea about what I'm dealing with.

Interesting. I had something similar happen in my Chevrolet Malibu. No audio, and the navigation was dead. Did you check the fiber optic connections to the control units? That was my first thought.
