Thanks. I checked the transmission fluid levels, but I didn’t assess its condition. How did you diagnose the worn-out transmission fluid on your Opel Vectra, and what did you do next?

After eliminating electrical issues, I took it to a trusted workshop for inspection. It turned out that the oil was the problem, and that there was undervoltage in the car. I suggest you go to a workshop, because diagnosing the cause is difficult without proper equipment.

Your advice was invaluable. The workshop diagnosed worn transmission fluid and undervoltage. The repair, including a fluid change and fixing the electrical fault, cost 240€.

Interesting. I had similar issues with my old Opel Vectra. The symptoms you describe sound awfully familiar. My Vectra was throwing error codes and acting strangely. I suspected the transmission fluid was worn out. Could that be the case here?
