Marea cold start issue
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Fiat Marea is experiencing poor performance during cold starts, suspected to be due to a faulty cold start injector. The issue includes rough idling and hard starting, which improve once the engine warms up. A suggested solution is to try injector cleaner additives, but ultimately, a workshop visit may be necessary to confirm and address the injector problem to prevent further engine damage.

I haven't tried injector cleaner additives yet, but I will. Were your symptoms consistent? Did they disappear once the engine warmed up?

Yes, precisely! Rough idle, hard starting... the whole shebang. Once warmed up, it ran fine. I tried fuel additives, but ultimately, I had to take it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the injector. I'd recommend you do the same to avoid further engine damage.

I appreciate the insights and confirmation. A workshop visit seems unavoidable. The injector replacement cost 515€. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Sounds familiar! I've got a Marea as well and had something similar. Have you tried injector cleaner additives? Might be a simple fix. How's the car running after it warms up?
