Marea Key Battery Low Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Fiat Marea diesel displayed a 'key battery low' warning, leading to unreliable keyless access and stored errors. The initial suspicion was a dying key fob battery. Replacing the battery (CR2032) resolved the issue, though another user experienced a recurring problem due to a fault in the key's electronics, suggesting professional diagnosis if the issue persists.

I haven't replaced it yet. I wanted to see if others had this issue. Did replacing the battery fix it permanently, or did the problem come back?

Replacing the battery didn't fix it for me. The error returned after two weeks. A workshop diagnosed a fault in the key's electronics. Get it checked professionally if a new battery doesn't last.

Thanks for sharing. I'll try a battery replacement first. If it continues, I'll book a workshop appointment. The battery was indeed empty. Replacing the battery (CR2032) cost 37€ and solved the problem. Thanks!

I understand your frustration. I have a Fiat Marea and had the same symptoms. Keyless entry stopped, and central locking was temperamental. Did you try replacing the battery? What kind does it use?
