Marea Oil Temperature and Pressure Lights
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Fiat Marea owner is experiencing issues with the engine oil temperature warning light and intermittent oil pressure warning light. The suspected cause is a faulty engine oil temperature sensor, possibly due to a defect in the cable or plug connection. A similar case suggested checking the sensor connection for loose or corroded contacts, which could cause both lights to illuminate. If the issue persists, visiting a mechanic for further inspection is recommended.

Thank you for your advice. Did you also experience both the temperature and oil pressure lights illuminating simultaneously? I find that combination particularly perplexing, as it seems unlikely both sensors would fail concurrently.

Yes, I had both lights. Turned out to be just the one faulty connection causing the weird readings. If wiggling the connector doesn't fix it, might be time to visit a workshop. It's probably a faulty sensor.

Understood. I appreciate the confirmation. I'll proceed with a more thorough inspection of the connection, and if that proves unsuccessful, I will take it to a trusted mechanic. The anticipated repair cost is around 95€ in my region. Thank you again for your assistance.

I had a similar issue on my Marea. First thing I'd check is the sensor connection. Give it a good wiggle and see if the light flickers. Could be a loose or corroded contact.
