Marea Turbo Boost Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The owner of a 2002 Fiat Marea suspects a turbo boost pressure sensor issue due to intermittent check engine lights, jerking during acceleration, a whistling noise turning into a hissing sound, engine stalling, higher fuel consumption, and reduced power. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. A fellow Marea owner suggests checking for loose hoses and mentions that disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor didn't resolve their similar issue. The recommended solution is to seek professional assistance at a workshop.

Thank you for your response. I have visually inspected the hoses, but I haven't specifically disconnected and reconnected the sensor. Do you recall if that resolved the issue temporarily, or provide any additional insights?

No, disconnecting and reconnecting didn't really fix anything long-term for me. It might have made the light go away for a little bit, but it always came back. The symptoms just kept getting worse. Honestly, it sounds like the same thing I had. In the end I just took it to a workshop, I think that's your best bet.

Understood. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Based on your recommendation, I will seek professional assistance at a workshop. The repair cost 95€. Thank you again.

Hey, I also have a Marea, and those symptoms sound awfully familiar. I had the same jerking, whistling, and the check engine light kept popping up. Have you checked for any loose hoses or anything obvious around the turbo? What happens if you disconnect and reconnect the sensor? Does the engine light go away?
