I own a 2002 Fiat Marea with a gasoline engine, mileage is at 204804 km. I am experiencing a problem that I suspect is related to the turbo boost pressure sensor. The check engine light comes on intermittently, and the car exhibits jerking during acceleration. There's also a whistling noise, which turns into a loud hissing sound when accelerating. Sometimes, the engine stalls when idling, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption along with reduced engine power. I suspect that the cable or plug connection of the component is defective. Could this be the boost pressure sensor?

Hey, I also have a Marea, and those symptoms sound awfully familiar. I had the same jerking, whistling, and the check engine light kept popping up. No, disconnecting and reconnecting didn't really fix anything long-term for me. It might have made the light go away for a little bit, but it always came back. The symptoms just kept getting worse. Honestly, it sounds like the same thing I had. In the end I just took it to a workshop, I think that's your best bet.
