Mark X Alarm System Siren Fault
Summary of the thread
The 2013 Toyota Mark X is experiencing an alarm system failure with an error indicating a siren communication fault. Initial checks of basic fuses did not resolve the issue. A suggested cause is a faulty connection in the wiring harness to the siren, possibly due to corrosion or damage. The recommended solution is to inspect the wiring and connectors for any issues, or seek professional assistance if necessary.

Thanks for the tip. Where exactly was the faulty connection on your Saab? I'm trying to locate the siren on the Mark X to check the wiring, but it's not immediately obvious.

On the Saab, it was near the wheel well, exposed to the elements. I'd suggest visually inspecting all the wiring and connectors you can find leading to the siren. If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, a workshop should be able to quickly identify the problem. I ended up paying 80€ back then.

Appreciate the help. I'll check the wiring thoroughly. If that doesn't pan out, it's off to the workshop. The error code pointed to a defective cable/plug connection, and the workshop confirmed. Repair cost me 95€.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Saab 9-3. Turned out to be a dodgy connection in the wiring harness to the siren. Have you checked the wiring and connectors for corrosion or damage?
