Mark X Oxygen Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Toyota Mark X is experiencing a persistent check engine light due to an oxygen sensor heater failure, leading to higher fuel consumption. The issue may stem from a faulty sensor or a dodgy connection, particularly at the sensor plug. While a quick inspection of the plug was done, a thorough check or professional diagnosis is recommended to resolve the problem effectively.

Yeah, I glanced at the plug, but didn't do a thorough check. Was your issue definitely the plug, or something else? Any tips on where to look exactly?

For me it was the plug, but the sensor itself was also faulty. Honestly, for peace of mind and proper diagnosis, I'd get it checked by a workshop. Cost me about 95€ to get sorted.

Cheers for the advice! I'll give the plug another look, but probably best to get it properly diagnosed. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Mark X. Faulty sensor can really mess with your vehicle emissions. Did you check the sensor plug? That's where my malfunction indicator led me.
