Mark X Rain Light Sensor Issue

No, I haven't checked the sensor directly. Where exactly is it located, and what kind of damage should I be looking for?

It's usually behind the rearview mirror, on the windshield. A common problem with these sensors is that bubbles can form under the gel pad between the sensor and the glass. This interferes with the sensor's ability to properly detect rain and light. I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop to be certain.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right. They found bubbles under the gel pad of the sensor. They replaced the gel pad and recalibrated the sensor. Cost me 62€, but everything is working as expected again.

I had a similar issue with my Mark X. From what you're describing, it sounds like the rain and light sensor is faulty. In many cars, the rain sensor detects moisture on the windshield and automatically activates the wipers. The light sensor measures the ambient light level and controls the headlights and dash illumination. Did you check the sensor itself for any visible damage?
