Mark X transmission issues

I've got a 2014 Toyota Mark X with a gasoline engine and I'm having some trouble. The transmission indicator and check engine lights are both on. It feels like the automatic transmission is stuck in emergency mode, and it's not shifting smoothly at all – almost like it's slipping or grinding. Plus, I'm pretty sure there's an error code stored. Could this be related to the radiator oil pressure?

Sounds rough! I have a Mark X too. I had similar symptoms a while back – the transmission acting up, lights flashing. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the radiator? That was the culprit in my case. Seems like a loose or damaged connection can mess with the oil pressure readings and throw everything off. Definitely worth a look before you dive into anything more serious.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly are those cable and plug connections located? I'm not super familiar with car stuff, so any guidance would be awesome.

Okay, so on my Mark X, the radiator connections are near the bottom of the radiator, usually on the driver's side. But honestly, if you're not comfortable poking around, I wouldn't risk making things worse. Given all those symptoms you mentioned, it might be best to take it to a workshop. My issue ended up being a faulty connection, and the repair cost was around 95€. They can diagnose it properly and make sure everything is fixed right.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to a local mechanic and you were spot on. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable connection to the radiator. They fixed it for 95€ just like you said. Thanks again for the help!
