MarkX low brake fluid strange feedback

A 2010 Toyota MarkX owner noticed low brake fluid levels and strange feedback from the brake pedal. The issue could be due to worn brake components, despite no warning lights or visible leaks. It was advised to consult a qualified technician for a thorough inspection. The problem was confirmed to be worn brakes, which were repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick response! No warning lights are on, and I haven't spotted any leaks, but I haven't had the wheels off to check the calipers closely. Could it still be the brake lines even without visible leaks? How did you fix it eventually?

The absence of apparent leaks does not definitively preclude the possibility of compromised brake lines. However, the more probable cause, considering the presented symptoms and the age of the vehicle, would be worn brake components. Given the complexities inherent in brake system diagnostics and rectification, I would strongly advise seeking counsel from a qualified automotive technician. A comprehensive inspection is warranted to ascertain the precise nature of the issue and forestall any potential safety ramifications.

Thanks a lot for your help! Took it to a workshop, and you were right, worn brakes. Ended up costing me 480€ but at least it's sorted now.

Greetings. I also happen to own a MarkX. A similar issue presented itself to me some time ago. To adequately diagnose the situation, could you please clarify whether any warning lights are illuminated on the instrument panel? Furthermore, have you observed any discernible leaks in the vicinity of the brake lines or calipers? This information would prove invaluable in ascertaining the underlying cause.
