MarkX sun blind failure
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Toyota Mark X has a sun blind that is stuck and not functioning, with an error code suggesting a motor issue. The problem is likely due to a faulty motor, as confirmed by another owner with a similar experience. The recommended solution is to consult a professional mechanic, who may need to replace the entire sun blind assembly to resolve the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the fuses, all good. I don't remember the error code right now. What was the motor issue you had? Any details would be great.

Alright, understood. I didn't check the code either. I just took it straight to the workshop after a bit of googling told me it was likely the motor. And yep, turned out it was. They replaced the whole sun blind assembly. So, I'd recommend getting a professional opinion. Might save you some time and headache in the long run.

Thanks for the help. I took it to a mechanic, and they confirmed it was the motor. Had to replace the whole sunblind unit. Cost 330€. Your experience really helped me get this sorted quickly.

Hey, I've got a Mark X as well, though I'm not sure about the exact year. I had a similar problem with my sun visor a while back. The symptoms you described sound awfully familiar. If I remember correctly, mine also got stuck and the dealer mentioned something about the motor. Did you check the fuse box? It might be a simple fix, but I doubt it. What error code are you getting?
