Master AC Compressor Failure

I've got a 2022 Renault Master diesel with 211561 km. The AC's packed it in - no cold air, warning light's on, and it won't even switch on. Error memory suggests a refrigerant compressor failure. Is this a common issue?

Sounds rough! Had a similar drama with my old Peugeot 308. AC just died. Did a scan and it was throwing compressor errors too. Have you checked the AC control unit? That was the culprit for me. Apparently those things are made of glass.

So, the Peugeot had similar symptoms and the compressor error was actually the control unit? How did you figure that out?

Yep, exactly the same symptoms. A mechanic suggested bypassing the compressor to test the control unit. He said it's a common fault and easily fried. Best to get it checked out at a workshop, unless you know your way around auto electrics.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on! The AC control unit was defective. New one fitted and all sorted. Cost me 980€, but at least I have AC again. Thanks for your help!
