Master automatic transmission issues

I'm having some weird issues with my 2023 Renault Master diesel. It's got about 52k km on the clock. Recently, the automatic transmission has been acting up. The shifting is all over the place, feels totally implausible. The transmission indicator light keeps popping on, and it's not shifting like it should, sometimes going into what feels like emergency mode. I scanned it with my OBD2 reader and it showed a code related to transmission oil performance. Could this be related to the transmission oil itself or is it more likely an electrical problem?

I had something similar happen with my Master. It sounds like undervoltage. Check your battery and alternator. A weak electrical system can mess with the automatic gearbox control unit and throw everything off. Is the battery new?

Interesting, I hadn't considered that! The battery seems okay, starts the van fine, but I'll definitely get it properly checked. Did you also experience the same kind of erratic shifting and the transmission light coming on?

Yep, exactly the same symptoms. Erratic shifting, light on, and limp mode occasionally. I'd suggest checking with a professional before replacing any expensive components. The garage found the problem pretty quickly.

Thanks for the insight! I'll get the battery and alternator properly tested. Took it to the shop, they found that it was indeed undervoltage and some old transmission oil. They replaced the oil and everything is running smoothly again. Cost me 240€.
