Matiz ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Chevrolet Matiz is experiencing intermittent ABS lamp activation, linked to a lateral acceleration sensor error. This issue may be caused by a defective control unit, as similar cases have shown. A workshop visit is recommended for diagnosis and repair, which could cost around 1000€.

Thanks! Yes, I am getting safety warnings. I haven't really paid much attention to the electronic stability, but now that you mention it, it does feel a bit off. Is wheel alignment really related to the lateral acceleration sensor?

Yep, same symptoms here. A faulty lateral acceleration sensor can trigger all sorts of weirdness with the ABS and stability control. Ended up being the control unit in my case. Take it to a workshop; they'll be able to confirm it and give you a proper fix. Sadly, it could be around 1000€.

Thanks a lot for the confirmation. A trip to the workshop was inevitable. I appreciate you sharing your experience; at least I know what to expect now! It was indeed the control unit, and the repair set me back 1000€. Hopefully, everything is fine now

Sounds familiar. I had a similar ABS issue crop up on my Matiz a while back. Was yours also throwing safety warnings, and did you notice any weirdness with the electronic stability? Might be worth checking your wheel alignment too, just in case.
