Matiz ABS Warning Steering Vibration
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Chevrolet Matiz owner experienced a low tire pressure warning, ABS light activation, steering wheel vibration, and increased steering effort. Despite checking and confirming correct tire pressure, the issues persisted. A suggested cause was a defective tire valve, potentially affecting the tire monitoring and power steering systems. Upon visiting a workshop, the defective valve was confirmed and repaired, resolving the issues.

Yes, the increased steering effort was sudden. I checked all four tires with my tire gauge and they were inflated according to spec. What was the resolution to your similar issue?

Given that all tires are correctly inflated and the steering effort is increased, I believe you might have a defective valve in one of your tires causing the sensor to act up and potentially interfering with the power steering system. It's difficult to diagnose remotely, but I suggest that you take it to a workshop to have it checked. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right. A valve in one tire was defective, confusing the tire monitoring system and affecting the power steering. The repair cost 280€. Appreciate the help!

That's quite a combination of issues! I used to have a Matiz, though a slightly newer model, and experienced something similar. The low tire pressure warning, ABS light, and steering wheel vibrations all at once... Did the increased steering effort come on suddenly? Were all tires inflated to the correct pressure, or just the ones you checked?
