Matiz charge air temperature sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Chevrolet Matiz is experiencing a charge air temperature sensor error, resulting in a check engine light, reduced engine power, and a noticeable whistling noise. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. The issue was resolved by cleaning and replacing a corroded connector on the sensor, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Good point about the air intake. The temperature reading does seem a bit erratic. By fluctuating, do you mean jumping around a lot or just generally reading high/low?

Yeah, jumping around! If it's all over the place and you're getting those other symptoms, especially the hissing, it really sounds like a bad sensor or connection. Honestly, with the power loss, I'd be tempted to just get it checked by a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache.

It ended up being a corroded connector on the sensor, just like I thought. Workshop charged me 95€ to clean it and replace the connector. Runs like new now.

Whoa, that sounds rough! Reduced power and hissing aren't good. I'm no expert, but could it be related to air intake? Is your temperature gauge acting weird, like fluctuating a lot?
