Matiz High Fuel Consumption Poor Start
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Chevrolet Matiz is experiencing high fuel consumption and poor starting. Diagnostics initially suggest a defective throttle valve, but the possibility of a faulty accelerator pedal module is considered. Cleaning the throttle body is suggested as a temporary fix, but ultimately, replacing the accelerator pedal module resolves the issue.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks. I haven't cleaned the throttle body yet. Did your Matiz have identical symptoms, and did cleaning the throttle body completely resolve it?

Yes, my Matiz had the same symptoms: poor starting and worse fuel consumption. Cleaning helped temporarily, but the problem returned. The workshop found a fault with the accelerator pedal module. I suggest a thorough diagnostic check.

Understood. The accelerator pedal module was indeed the issue. Replacement resolved the symptoms. The repair was 205€.

I had similar symptoms on my Matiz. It could be the throttle position sensor. Have you tried cleaning the throttle body? Sometimes a good cleaning can resolve idle issues.
