Thanks for the insight! I'm not an expert and unsure how to check those connections. Could you provide more detail about which specific connections to look at? Can I do this myself, or should I seek professional help? I'm frustrated about another mechanic visit.

Given you're not confident with car electronics, it's best to leave it to a workshop. I tried myself and damaged something else. A professional can pinpoint the faulty connection and repair it properly. It's probably just a corroded plug, not a big deal, but without the proper tools, you risk doing more damage.

Thanks for the advice! The mechanic found a defective cable connection to the control unit. They replaced the connector, and the issue is resolved. The bill was 95€, a fair price. Thanks again!

Sounds like the issue I had with my old Renault Clio, although symptoms may vary. A diagnostic trouble code pointed towards a communication fault. Have you checked the cable or plug connections associated with the control unit? A loose or corroded connection could cause that.
