Matrix Alarm System Malfunction
Summary of the thread
The anti-theft alarm system on a 2007 Hyundai Matrix is malfunctioning, showing a stored error and failing to activate. Diagnostics indicate the issue may be due to the alarm being coded to activate optical locking. The problem was resolved by consulting a technician, who identified a faulty alarm control unit as the cause, and replacing and coding the unit fixed the issue.

It's totally inactive. No false alarms, just doesn't function. Central locking works, but the alarm is unresponsive. What similarities did you have?

Yeah, mine just gave up the ghost too. I messed about with the immobilizer and alarm sensor, but honestly, I couldn't figure it out. Ended up taking it to a workshop. Best bet.

I've decided to consult a technician. The diagnostic pointed to a faulty alarm control unit, causing the symptoms. Replacement and coding fixed it. Parts and labor cost 45€.

Whoa, sounds frustrating! I had something similar happen with my Matrix. Is it constantly giving you false alarms, or is it just totally dead?
