Interesting. What was the eventual diagnosis for your Opel, and did the voltage issue affect the shifting behavior directly?

Ultimately, the issue with my Insignia was indeed related to voltage fluctuations affecting the transmission control unit, leading to the erratic shifting. You should consider visiting a workshop. They can read out the error memory and check the oil level and condition.

Thank you for the advice. I had the car diagnosed, and it turned out the automatic transmission oil was worn out, likely due to undervoltage as suspected. An oil replacement and system reset cost 240€. The shifting is now back to normal.

That sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Opel Insignia, though it was a diesel. Same symptoms: weird shifting, warning lights, and the transmission feeling like it was about to give up. In my case, the mechanic suspected the transmission fluid, but also checked the voltage to the transmission control module.
