Matrix Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Toyota Matrix experienced weak braking and an error related to the brake booster pressure sensor. The issue was identified as a faulty sensor, possibly due to an incorrect brake bleeding procedure. The recommended solution was to replace the sensor and properly bleed the brake system, which resolved the braking performance problem.

Yeah, the brake pedal does feel stiffer now that you mention it. Air in the lines makes sense. Did you end up replacing the sensor? Or was it just a bleeding issue?

In my case, I suspected it was the brake booster pressure sensor, especially with the error code. I wasn't comfortable messing with the brake system myself, so I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was indeed the sensor, likely caused by a previous incorrect brake bleeding procedure. They replaced the sensor and re-bled the system properly. If you are not experienced with brake systems, I suggest you go to a workshop.

Thanks for the info! I took your advice and brought it to a shop. Turns out you were spot on. It was the brake booster pressure sensor, likely damaged by a bad bleed job. The repair cost 90€, including parts and labor. The braking is back to normal now!

I had a similar issue on my Matrix. The symptoms you describe sound very familiar. Does the brake pedal feel different than usual, maybe a bit stiffer? It could be related to the pressure sensor, but also potentially air in the brake lines.
