Matrix diesel water sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Hyundai Matrix diesel is experiencing a check engine light due to a water sensor error, accompanied by rough engine performance. The sensor appears functional, leading to suspicions of an electrical fault, possibly involving the cable or plug connection. The issue seems to worsen in damp conditions, suggesting moisture-related electrical problems. The recommended solution is to have a professional mechanic inspect the wiring and connections to resolve the issue.

Interesting! It does seem to happen more when it's damp, now that you mention it. What exactly was the issue with yours, and how did you resolve it? Any hints on where to check?

Yep, sounds like the same problem! I wasn't able to fix it myself; I had a guy at the workshop take a look at it. I think it's an annoying fault to fix yourself. You should go to the workshop to solve it, I'd say! Hope it helps!

Okay, that's good to know! I was hoping it would be a simple fix, but it sounds like it's more complicated than I thought. I'll take it to a mechanic and have them check the wiring and connections. Thanks so much for the help! It cost me 95€, but at least the problem is finally gone!

Hi there! I've got a Matrix too, and that sounds super familiar! I had something similar happen a while back. Does it happen more when it's wet outside, or does it seem random? Mine was driving me nuts for weeks!
