No, I haven't noticed any unusual noises from the fuel tank area specifically. However, the pump itself does seem to be running a bit louder than usual. Is there a reliable way to confirm whether it's indeed the high pressure fuel pump causing the fuel volume regulator issue?

Louder pump is a strong indicator. On the Saab the pump was the culprit. Honestly, with those symptoms and the error code, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop for a proper diagnosis. Save yourself some headache.

I appreciate you sharing your experience with the Saab. It does seem prudent to seek professional assistance at this point. I've booked an appointment with my local mechanic. Turns out the high pressure pump was indeed defective and caused the fuel volume regulator to fail. Repair cost me 1510€, ouch! Hopefully, this resolves the problem for good.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Saab 9-3. Check engine light, stalling, power loss. Ended up being the high pressure fuel pump. Do you hear any unusual noises coming from the fuel tank area?
