Matrix headlight range control issue

Hey, I'm having a real headache with my 2004 Hyundai Matrix, gasoline engine. The headlight range control is acting up! I'm getting an error stored and a warning light is constantly on. The low beams are shining way too low, or sometimes too high, it's all over the place! I've checked the electrical connectors, but everything seems fine. I'm at a loss!

Summary of the thread

A 2004 Hyundai Matrix is experiencing issues with its headlight range control, resulting in erratic beam positioning and a warning light. The problem may be linked to the servomotor, which controls the headlight adjustment. A similar case was resolved by diagnosing and replacing the faulty servomotor at a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my Matrix. Check the servomotor in the headlight. That was the problem for me.

Oh really? The servomotor? Was it difficult to diagnose? Did you have the same symptoms with the beams pointing all over the place?

Yeah, exactly the same. Beams all over the place. I just took it to a workshop to be honest. They ran diagnostics and pointed to the servomotor pretty quickly.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the advice. I'll take it to the workshop and mention the servomotor. I suspected as much but it's good to have a second opinion. It was the servomotor and the repair set me back 1040€. Thanks again!
