Thanks for the tip! I did a quick visual inspection, but nothing jumped out. Where exactly should I be looking for these air leaks? Is there a specific hose or connection that's more prone to failure?

Often, it's the flex hose between the air filter box and the throttle body. Cracks can develop over time. But if you are not sure, and your symptoms all point to the MAF, it might be best to have a workshop take a look. A scan tool can confirm if the sensor is reporting values out of range.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – the MAF sensor was the culprit. Replaced it, and everything's back to normal. Fuel consumption is back to where it should be, no more stalling, and the check engine light is gone. Total cost was 365€ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds like a classic MAF sensor issue. A faulty MAF can definitely throw off the air-fuel ratio, leading to those symptoms. Have you checked for any obvious air intake leaks? Sometimes a loose hose clamp can cause similar problems before you start suspecting the sensor itself.
