Matrix Overheating Speed Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Toyota Matrix is experiencing engine overheating and a persistent check engine light. The issue appears to be linked to the radiator fan not activating, despite the fan motor and thermal switch receiving power. A faulty speed sensor is suspected as the cause, and replacing it resolved the overheating problem.

Yeah, the temp gauge is definitely creeping up higher than usual. What was the fix for yours? Was it really the speed sensor?

I'm no expert, but I took it to a shop, and they confirmed it was related to a sensor. Honestly, I'd recommend getting yours checked out professionally before you fry your engine!

Thanks for the heads up! I appreciate the insight. Turns out the speed sensor was indeed the culprit. Cost me around 250€ to get it sorted, but at least the overheating is gone!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Matrix. Is your temperature gauge going crazy too?
